Born in Salzburg in 1992, he now studies marimba (Bogdan Bacanu) and percussion at the Anton Bruckner Private University.

Other instructors were Martin Grubinger and Leonhard Schmidinger on percussion instruments.

He won ten first prizes at the state-wide competition Prima la Musica, the Raiffeisen Klassik Preis given by the Mozarteum University including a special prize for outstanding accomplishments; he was finalist and third prize winner at the International Marimba Competition Linz 2006, where he was also able to clinch the Yamaha Audience Award.

Christoph is an award winner at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum and played in the final concert during the Salzburg Festival.

His touring schedule has taken him to Germany, Austria, Spain, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, where his concerts have been met with high critical acclaim.

In addition to his performance activities and as a member of the Quartet „The Wave“, he recorded  the 2 quartet albums “Aurora Borealis” and “Concerti for two Harpsichords by J.S. Bach“ conducted by Peter Sadlo with the Baroque Orchestra “Salzburg Barock”, published in 2009 by Classic Concert Records.

Christoph Sietzen is endorser for Adams, the Dutch instrument manufacturer.
